Everybody likes a good chance to bring out their pets and have a good time.Well, here's another event where you get your furry friend out for some good old fun.  It's a Bark in the Park Event! Now, keep in mind, this isn't the Sedalia Parks and Recreation event, this is the one at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster.

This year, Bark in the Park will be on September 24. It'll be held at Ike Skelton Park from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Families can bring out their furry friends to compete in various activities throughout the day as well as take photos to capture some great memories. Held at the largest park located on base, this event includes a dog and owner costume contest, musical sit contest, awards for waggiest tails, best trick contest, and dog races! Last year they had goodie bags for the dogs and all sorts of opportunities for you to learn about volunteering to help local animals in the area.

There are a few little stipulations, at least, there were last year.  So I'm assuming the same will apply this year.  You have to bring your vaccination records to show your pup is up to date on all their shots. And, they do have a list of dogs that, unfortunately, can't come.

Prohibited Dog Breeds:
Pit Bulls
Rottweilers
Doberman Pinschers
Chow Chows
Wolf Hybrids

Now again, this was according to last year's event, so you might want to check in to make sure on their Facebook page. They're still looking for sponsors of the event, so if you or your business/workplace wants to get involved, you definitely can. All you have to do is call or email Wendy here: whitemanmarketing5@gmail.com or call (660) 687–7929.
