Family Fun Takes Over Hubbard Park — Don’t Miss NORTH’s Big Bash!
Gentle Reader, I have an idea for an event for you to attend! See if you can clear your calendar for Friday, August 2, because NORTH is throwing a party, and you’re invited! From 12 to 6 p.m. at Hubbard Park, it’s all about family, community, and a whole lot of fun.
Wait — what’s NORTH?
Glad you asked. NORTH stands for 'Northside Organization Reinventing The Honor'. Sounds big, doesn't it? Like, a very deep mission. They're not doing anything less than swinging for the fences here. They’re a nonprofit rooted right here in Sedalia, with a mission to enrich, educate, and encourage people to realize their purpose and walk in it with confidence.
They focus on helping families, especially in low and moderate income brackets, by offering real resources (not that thoughts and prayers aren't appreciated, but you Know What I Mean): career coaching, health and wellness programs, mentoring, tutoring, life coaching, computer classes, childcare, and more. You know, trying to fill in the gaps where ever they come up.

They also run amazing programs like “Spark the Heart for the Arts,” which introduces kids and families to music, art, and creativity. And their “On The Inside Re-Entry Academy” helps individuals who are incarcerated develop tools for success and personal growth before they return to daily life. It helps them to break the cycle of getting into trouble again.
Now about that party…
Family Day in the Park is totally free and open to everyone. There will be a bounce house, a basketball tournament, food, music, games, and fun for all ages. Whether you’re coming for the food, the basketball game, the dunk tank, or to let the kids burn off energy, there’s something for everyone.
No registration, no cost — just good vibes, friendly faces, and maybe some sunscreen.
Because when NORTH throws a party, the whole community shows up.
Parkingly yours,
Behka
