Want to get a jump start on filing your taxes? Don't jump too fast. The IRS won't start accepting returns until this date.

For you early birds, good news from the IRS. The IRS e-file Open Date is tentatively scheduled for January 21, 2020.

If you have your taxes done by a professional, you may be able to have them done even earlier but the returns still won't be able to be filed until the 21.

According to the IRS the earliest you'll most likely see those refunds will be in late February.

If you're not wanting to get that jump start and you are putting off those returns as late as you can, this year's deadline to file is Tuesday, April 15 for both state and federal returns.
