I could really boil this video down to one word if I tried hard enough and that word would be "nope". A Missouri man just shared a video of a cottonmouth snake who was on the hunt and it's as intimidating sight as you're likely to see in the Show Me State.

This new video share comes from Stammtisch mit Dieter which is likely the most German YouTube name ever. Loosely translated I think that means hanging out at a table with Dieter, but that's just me guessing. My family is 50 percent German, so you'd think I'd know (but I don't), but that's not really the point here.

Dieter just shared this video of a cottonmouth in Missouri in hunt mode which I fortunately have never witnessed in person.

I have only had one real life experience with a cottonmouth in Missouri. I was at the Marion County Fair in Palmyra years ago and a girl walked up to our broadcast location. Her arm was swelled up big time. She had been bitten down by a creek not that far from the fairgrounds and was having an allergic reaction. We managed to navigate her to the EMT's who fortunately were also at the fair, but the bite of that snake was vicious.

The Missouri Department of Conservation gives you the warning signs that you're dealing with a cottonmouth when you see the large diamond-shaped head with the dark olive brown and sometimes black markings. Of all the snakes in Missouri, that's the one you want to avoid at all costs.
