America loves heroes, but the truth is that no one is completely heroic or a villain. Everyone is a combination of good, bad and otherwise. As Wikipedia notes, much of Walt Disney's childhood in the early 1900's was spent in the Kansas City, Missouri area. History Hunters recently did a walking tour of his childhood home, school and early businesses in that part of the Show Me State.

It's clear now that Walt Disney was a complicated man who brought much joy to children around the world over the decades with his animation company and the iconic characters he created. It's also true that his adult years included some not so heroic moments, but all of us are complicated if we're willing to admit it. Some better, some worse and a majority somewhere in between.
