The Community Blood Center is hosting two blood drives next week, and there's an added bonus for anybody that's a Kansas City Royals fan... or even somebody who knows a Royals fan.

People who have been in car accidents might need a huge transfusion of red blood cells. But platelets are used too, for cancer patients, trauma and open heart surgeries.
