Sedalia’s Trash Pick-ups Will Start at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday
Due to dangerously cold weather conditions expected to continue through Tuesday, Feb. 16 and Wednesday, Feb. 17, trash pick-up services provided by the City of Sedalia will start at 9 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday for automated truck routes.
Routes where a rear load truck, with laborers emptying carts using manual tipping devices is used, will not be collected on Tuesday.
The Tuesday rear load routes will be picked-up on Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 17-18.
Due to the delayed start time, some routes may be picked up a day later than normal. Residents are asked to place their trash carts out for collection on their regular trash pick-up day and leave their carts out until collected.
The City apologized for any inconvenience caused by the weather delay.
"The safety of our sanitation workers warrants not exposing them to the current frigid conditions forecast to occur tomorrow and through week’s end," a press release said on Monday afternoon.
