On Wednesday night, Officers were dispatched to the 600 block of East 10th Street in reference to a disturbance.

While en route, Dispatch advised the suspect had left the residence, and then had come back with a pistol in hand. Officers arrived to the address, and took cover as the suspect came out onto the front porch with the pistol in his hand. The suspect was holding the pistol by the muzzle. He was told to put the weapon down.

The suspect then went back into the house, before coming back onto the front porch, throwing the pistol away from him onto the street. The suspect was then detained without incident. The victim stated after a grocery delivery, she had asked the suspect to throw away old meat. The suspect flew into a rage, stating he would feed the old meat to the dog. He then started yelling at the victims, knocked over a television in the living room, and started to try to break the dog’s neck.

After that, the suspect left the residence, and came back with the pistol. He pointed it in the victim’s faces and told them they were going to die. The report notes the suspect had an injury to his hand, and he was transported to a hospital for a fit-for-confinement check. After passing, the intoxicated suspect was transported to the Pettis County Jail.

Elmer Jewel Miley, 40, of Sedalia, was booked in on charges of felony Domestic Assault in the 1st Degree (two charges), felony Unlawful Use of a Weapon (two charges), Armed Criminal Action (two charges), and Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
