Sedalia Police Reports for February 5, 2024

Two people were arrested after Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle containing a subject known to have a no-bond warrant for their arrest at 216 West Broadway shortly after 2 a.m. Sunday. 41-year-old Joseph Elmer Fore of Sedalia, was arrested on his FTA misdemeanor warrant. The driver of the vehicle, 41-year-old Tara Lynn Davis, also of Sedalia, was found to be intoxicated. She was also arrested for DWI. Both were transported to the Pettis County Jail. David was released after being booked for driving while intoxicated.

On Sunday at 5:38 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to WalMart, 3201 W. Broadway, for a theft report. Officers gathered information and were able to identify the suspect. Officers then located 43-year-old Marie Antoinette Platt of Sedalia and issued her a citation for stealing.

On Sunday at 2:02 a.m., Sedalia Police responded to the 2700 block of South Kentucky for a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the driver, who was visibly intoxicated. 30-year-old Sean Christopher King of Sedalia was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated and transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

On Jan. 30 at 8:45 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a truck for disobeying a stop sign in the 300 block of South Lamine. The vehicle also had improper registration. The driver was found to be intoxicated by drugs and alcohol. 37-year-old Terrance Allen Cline, Jr., was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Cline now faces charges of driving while intoxicated, operating a motor vehicle on the highway with a valid license, failure to maintain financial responsibility and failure to register with the DOR.

On Saturday at 2:17 a.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on an SUV near 15th and Engineer for speeding and careless driving. The driver was found to be intoxicated. 23-year-old Ruben Rubio III, was taken into custody and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where he was booked in, pending release to a sober person. He was issued a notice of suspension. Rubio also received citations for speeding 55 in a 40 mph zone, speeding 55 in a 30 mph zone, and careless driving.

On Friday at 5:19 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for registration issues and a moving violation in the 700 block of South Limit. During the stop, it was discovered that the driver was suspended. 24-year-old Trevor James Padget of Sedalia was arrested and released on scene with a citation for driving while suspended. The passenger, 24-year-old Mercury King Brewster of Pleasant Hill, was also arrested after police discovered he was wanted on a Cass County warrant. Brewster was taken to the Pettis County Jail, pending a $200 cash-only bond.

On Saturday at 12:31 a.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop in the 1000 block of West 16th for suspicion of a suspended driver. The registered owner, who was identified as the driver, had a suspended Missouri driver's license. 35-year-old Tyler Dominque Vincent of Sedalia was arrested and released with a Municipal court summons for driving while suspended.

On Saturday at 3:36 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to North Grand and Pettis for a found property report. A black iPhone was found by a passerby and turned over to police. Contact with the owner of the phone was attempted, but unsuccessful. The iPhone will be held at the SPD until it is reclaimed by its owner.

On Friday at 9:34 p.m., Sedalia Police took a theft report over the phone. The subject said that someone known to her stole a $50 bill from her hotel room at 3501 W. Broadway. The suspect is known and charges are being requested.

On Saturday, Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with no license plate lights at Broadway and Winchester. A computer check through Joint Communications revealed that the driver, 64-year-old Sergey Kulchitskiy of Calhoun, was wanted on a Henry County FTA warrant with a $500 cash or surety bond on an original charge of no proof of insurance. Kulchitskiy was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail.

On Saturday at 10:30 p.m., Sedalia Police conducted a traffic stop on a truck at Broadway and Crescent Drive for failing to maintain its lane. The driver was found to be intoxicated and suspended. 32-year-old Trence Wade Wehrly, Jr., of Sedalia, was arrested and booked into the Pettis County Jail, pending release to a sober person.

On Saturday at 11:07 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to the 1000 block of E. 10th for a disturbance. Upon arrival, police made contact with the reporting party and a highly-intoxicated female. The woman was asked to leave the residence and she refused. 41-year-old Amy Rachelle Naylor of Sedalia was placed into protective custody and later transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was placed on a 12-hour protective custody hold.

On Sunday morning, Sedalia Police took a burglary report at La Colmena, 210 North Ohio. Officers spoke with the owner and gathered information for a report.

On Saturday at 5:15 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to the SPD lobby for a found property report. A black automotive crate was found in the alley of the 1000 block of W. 3rd containing several items. The property will be held at the SPD for safekeeping until the owner can claim it.

On Saturday morning, Sedalia Police took a vehicle theft report in the 1600 block of W. 18th. The car was stolen sometime Jan. 7-8. Information on the suspect is known.

On Friday afternoon, Sedalia Police took a theft report at 3201 W. Broadway. Stolen was a cell phone.

On Saturday, Sedalia Police responded to Cenex gas station, 120 W. 16th Street for a civil matter. During the course of an incident, an assault occurred by the suspect on the victim. The suspect, 20-year-old Cynetta Ann Casey of Sedalia, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail, where she was booked and released, pending the filing for formal charges for 4th degree domestic assault.

On Friday at 11:19 p.m. Sedalia Police took a report from a woman who said an attempted theft occurred earlier in the day at 4th and Massacusettes.

On Jan. 30, Sedalia Police took a report of a brick being thrown through the window of a residence in the 1100 block of South Harding.

On Friday at 1:16 p.m., Sedalia Police took a crash report concerning an incident that happened overnight at Bothwell Regional Health Center, 601 E. 14th. The reporting party stated that her dark gray 2023 Subaru Crosstrek was struck on the left rear side by an unknown vehicle while it was parked on Bothwell's lot sometime between 6:15 p.m. Thursday and 6:55 a.m. Friday.

On Jan. 30, Sedalia Police took an identity theft report in the 2600 block of South Limit.

On Jan. 30 at 2:35 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to a call of items being left roadside in the 300 block of W. 7th. The items were placed into evidence for safekeeping.

On Jan. 30 at 12:36 p.m., Sedalia Police responded to the SPD lobby to take a theft report concerning an incident that occurred in the 1200 block of E. 6th. The reporting party stated that someone they know stole self-care products from her home.

On Friday, Sedalia Police assisted Animal Control in serving an administrative search warrant at 1607 South Engineer to take custody of two dogs on the property. The animals were secured without incident.
