Popular Kansas Landscaper Gives Vulnerable Senior A Beautiful Gift
Have you seen the "Lawn Guy" video that’s been circulating on social media? I know, I know, that's not super specific, so I'll unpack that.
Well, we might lose TikTok this week, so I'm thinking more about it than normal. And one account I follow is in the news - for a great reason!
The owner of a landscaping business in Kansas called SB Mowing has gained fame online for assisting people who cannot afford a landscaper. He offers to mow their lawns and pressure-wash their driveways for free. It's one of those things where they show him talking to the homeowner or neighbor, and then they film the whole thing sped up so you can watch from beginning to end. It's very kind of....soothing? I hear a lot of people watch them to destress and all that.

Recently, he made headlines after a video featuring a woman named Beth went viral over the weekend. Beth, who is elderly, was facing a $240 fine for not maintaining her yard. She explained that she couldn’t afford to pay it.
In the video, he mowed her lawn and trimmed everything back at no cost. The story gained traction when viewers in the comments expressed a desire to help, prompting him to start a GoFundMe campaign for her.
He posted a follow-up video this week after returning to Beth’s house to share some incredible news. He informed her that random strangers had donated over half a million dollars to support her. As of the last update though, the total amount raised was closer to $800,000.
I say, keep going, Spencer! Even if the TikTok thing goes away, I'm sure you'll find a way to keep doing good things for your neighborhood.
Lawnly yours,
Behka
