The Worst Intersections in Sedalia (According to Sedalians)
Alright everyone, the other day I decided to ask you guys a question in the "Purple Box" on our social media page. I figured it was time for a little grousin'. What's grousin'? It's grumbling and petty complaints, pretty much. So what I was hoping was that we'd do a little complaining to get it out of our system. And it worked!
I asked you, "What's an intersection you avoid in Sedalia?"
And well, people answered. Let's see if you agree with their choices.
Green Ridge Road and South Lamine/65 Highway
This one was the most highly voted. Michelle included an exact point.
Michelle F: Coming out of Southwest Village from 32nd onto Green Ridge Road, going onto 65 intersection. Traffic has really picked up and it really bottlenecks several times per day.
Jackie D: I drive a bus and use it twice a day. I'm so grateful 90% of the time someone lets me out ❤️. But, being a big bus it's still difficult to make sure no one is coming from like 4 different ways and I have enough room for the bus once I make the turn... I voted for someone in November that was ALL for getting this intersection fixed.
I need to find out who it was and see what's up
Wendi B - 65 and 32nd
Jennifer P - 65 and 32nd
South Grand and West Broadway Boulevard.
This one I know well. I've seen a lot of accidents here, although I've never noticed the light being excessively slow.
Doug S -Grand and Broadway. It has the longest wait for a light ever!
Kevin Z - Grand and 50 especially at night. The lights on grand take 84 years to finally change to green
West Main Street and South Ohio Street.
This one I think people kind of forget about. But it is a problem, because so many of us decide to go toolin around this area like we're ALREADY ON THE HIGHWAY, and that's just not the case.
Brent H - Can't believe West 50 and main street not mentioned.
West Main and South Park.
MJ H - Main and Park. If any of the intersections needs a 4way it’s that one. Lived there 25 years and seen many many wrecks and when work gets off its hell.
Winchester and West Broadway Boulevard.
I was surprised this one didn't get more votes. I think most of us avoid it already, ha!
Ryan M- Winchester and Broadway. People forget how stoplights and turning lanes work.
Mike L - Walmart and Winchester
East Broadway and South Massachusetts Avenue.
This one is an old favorite. We love to hate this one.
Morgan M- Massachusetts and 50. If you turn left on Massachusetts while on 50, I hate you. Edit: come to think of it, Massachusetts and Ingram off 50, that whole area needs work
Artistic Isle - Lamine and 50 at all costs!! Especially if I’m turning right!!! That light seems to never change.
10th and Thompson Boulevard.
This is yet another one I was surprised we didn't hear more about. I know I've avoided turning left here many, many a time.
Amy W - Thompson and the 10th going left
And of course, there were a few other honorable mentions.
Heather R - Any left turn onto Broadway or Limit. As a former FedEx driver, I hated turning left onto those two roads!
Kathy D - Not in Sedalia bit 65 and TT

And of course, not just in Sedalia!

Erin P - All of them. I try not to leave Green Ridge as much as possible.
What do you think? What are your "avoid at all cost" intersections in Sedalia?
Rightily yours,
Behka
