Ketchup on Steak? We’re Not Mad, Just……. Deeply Concerned

So I have to admit, NJ and I don't eat steak super often. I mean, we do eat it sometimes, sure. But it's not an "every week" thing. You know how it is, you probably rely a lot on chicken and ground beef for your weekday meals, just like me.

But we were discussing some of our Memorial Day grilling wants, and steak came up of course. But in fairness, so did baked potatoes, corn on the cob, skewers, you name it. But while we were talking about steak, something came up.

Sour Cream.

Yes, NJ likes to have a side of sour cream with his steak. Now I've heard of steak sauce, clearly. A1, HP, and Lee and Perrins have been in the fridge at some point or another. But in general, I don't really want something to PUT the steak in... unless we're talking about a monkey dish with garlic butter in it or something.

So of course, I had to ask you what you think. I asked you on our social media about the WORST steak sauces..... and it got interesting quick.

Most people were Camp No Sauce.

The best steaks don't need any type of dipping sauce but the not great ones, I use A1 or Worcestershire sauce.

Agreed, good steak doesn't need sauce but Worcestershire would be the worst!

And most people were very aware that one condiment.... is a definite no no.

have to agree with Larry. but ketchup does not ever belong on a steak unless it happens to spill over as a result of fries as your side. Then just don’t overdue the ketchup on the fries and taint your steak.

And of course, there were some nostalgic folks.

Well, I think we've learned that, well, steak sauce is not popular in West Central Missouri.   Although I still will melt a little butter to go with it sometimes.
