According to Midwest Living's list of the 20 Top Things to Do in Missouri, the Lake of the Ozarks is the cream of the crop when it comes to the top things in Missouri. The Lake of the Ozarks beat out Forrest Park in second place, followed by the Wineries of Hermann in 3rd, the Katy Trail in 4th, and the Gateway Arch rounding out the top 5. What makes the Lake of the Ozarks the TOP thing to do in all of Missouri? On their site they say...

"Missouri's largest lake has 1,150 miles of shoreline—and just about as many ways to get out and enjoy it. Lake of the Ozarks was formed in 1931, with the completion of Bagnell Dam. Since then, Bagnell Dam Boulevard, known as "the Strip," has evolved into a colorful kitsch-central, with fudge shops, old-time photo studios and souvenir shops."

I will say that I tend to agree with this ranking... St. Louis, Kansas City, Branson, and the Wineries are all terrific but...If you are really trying to show off what Missouri has that no one else does it is the Lake of the Ozarks. This list does have Hannibal and the Mark Twain history ranked 11th on the list! Ahead of things like the Missouri Botanical Garden, and Ha Ha Tonka State Park, which is just terrific for our local Hannibal Tourism.  What is the TOP thing to do in Missouri in your opinion?
