For many of us the thought of snow makes us shiver. (Get it...snow...shiver?) According to the National Weather Service we could see a rain/snow mix Saturday evening. As of Thursday morning, it's not enough to worry about this weekend. If and when we get inclimate weather in the upcoming weeks, a reminder that we will have cancellations for area schools and businesses posted  on KXKX.com.

But as far as the weather for the next four days, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms are possible today, mainly from far western Missouri westward into Kansas. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible across much of the region tonight and Thursday. Rain chances will shift south of I-70 on Friday, followed by widespread rain and thunderstorms Saturday into Sunday, some of which could be heavy.

Snow covers the streets of Rockford, Illinois.
