Sedalia Woman Arrested After Shooting Tuesday Evening
The following information comes from a Press Release issued by the Sedalia Police Department.
On May 17, 2022, at approximately 6:48 p.m, the Sedalia Police Department responded to the 2500 block of East 9th Street for a report of shots fired. The victim, Mark Morgan, 57 years of age, reported that he had been shot at multiple times by a person known to him.
When officers arrived, the suspect was no longer shooting and had returned to their residence where they barricaded themselves inside the residence. Officers were able to unlock the door to the residence and open the door to attempt to talk to the suspect. Officers were able to deescalate the situation and get the suspect to exit the residence. She was taken into custody without incident.
During the investigation, it was determined that the victim and suspect were currently residing together and have a child in common. The victim was fortunately uninjured, but did have a bullet hole in his shirt where one of the bullets passed through. Victoria M. McWilliams, 55 years of age, was arrested and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Charges of 1st Degree Domestic Assault, Armed Criminal Action, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon are being requested.
