The Pettis County Sheriff's Office has been receiving numerous reports from residents who are receiving unsolicited calls from an "Officer Hill" telling them they have a warrant for their arrest for failure to appear for jury duty.

The sheriff's department says the the caller is pressuring residents for payment of bond, to avoid them being arrested and taken to jail.

The Pettis County Sheriff is warning residents this is a SCAM. Deputies will not call you about an arrest warrant and will never ask to make a payment over the phone, wire money, or go to a store and purchase pre-loaded cards for bond.

It is recommended that residents never give personal information or payment from unsolicited callers.

Pettis County deputies are currently investigating the matter.

If you receive a scam call, report to the Pettis Co. Sheriff's office at 827-0052.
