No Way, No How, Not By a Long Chalk Am I Making A Second Trip To The Car
I think this might be an exercise in studying my levels of stubbornness.
I don't know about guys, but going to the grocery store is pretty mandatory to me. Unless you have some crazy biofarm where you grow all your own food, make your own clothes, and raise your own meat and dairy, you probably go to the store just as often as I do. Although I gotta admit... I don't think I wanna visit your biofarm. Good for you, but.... I'm good.
But, when I go to the store... there is always a slight competition with myself. And today, I've hit my personal best. Seven bags, one case of sparkling water, and a gallon of milk.... in one trip from the car to the kitchen.
THAT'S RIGHT. I will do everything in my power to move heaven and earth, whatever it takes, to not have to make a second trip back into the house. Admittedly, when I do the "big shop" once a month, that's just not possible. But for the "weekly shop" , every single time I try my darndest to carry all of the groceries in in one go.
I don't know why I'm like this. I mean, it's not difficult to just go out again and make a second trip. But there's just something inside me that won't let me at least try to get everything in at once. I guess it's just a...competition with myself? Which is weird, because I am not really that competitive, especially with other people. But when it comes to carrying in the groceries, I am ready to bring it. Literally. In the house.
Today was, as far as I can recall, a personal best. I was a little worried about the case of water under my arm, but the bags and the milk were secure. And I made it in without dropping anything or slipping in the rain water/mud, which is a feat in and of itself. The only bad thing was... nobody was around to see it.
So of course, I have to share it with you, gentle reader. Look at it again.
You can't really see the sparking water, but it's there. I don't drink soda anymore, you see. Aah yes, the little things in life, bringing myself joy.
Do you ever try to get the groceries in one go? Do you succeed? What's your personal best? Or are you a sane person and just make two trips?
Grocerily yours,
Behka
