For a lot us a three-day weekend means an opportunity to just stay around the house and relax. For others it's a chance to get away and see different scenery, maybe a different town. If the later of the two is what excites you, we may have just the ticket. There's a couple of big events going on this Fourth of July weekend in Jefferson City.

Jefferson City's annual 4th of July Celebration, Salute to America, is not one to be missed! Featuring the largest fireworks display in central Missouri, this event fills the city's downtown festival district with carnival games, a parade, concerts, beer gardens, and more! The event is happening July 2-4 in downtown Jefferson City.

If you're in the mood for some music we can help fill that void, too! Friday evening, July 2, it's a kick off Salute to America with live music at the Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater! Enjoy music from Chris Janson, the award-winning musician with hits such as "Buy Me a Boat," "Fix a Drink," and "Good Vibes." Tickets on sale through ticketmaster.

If this holiday weekend is filled up but you're looking for something to do later this month and on in through October, the Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater has a lineup of more shows and events. The ones coming up in July include:

  • Steve Earle & The Dukes July 10
  • Brian Regan July 16
  • Battle of the Brews July 24

All shows at the Capital Region MU Health Care Amphitheater have tickets available though their website, riversideamp.com.
