September 9, Sam Webb will be at the Fred E. Davis Multipurpose Center at State Fair Community College. Webb is the founder of "Livin' - It Ain't Weak to Speak",  an organization to encourage people to live their life and destroy the stigma of suicide.

The Memory Lane Foundation for suicide prevention was created in June of 2015 to help Pettis County by facilitating support groups, having events to promote awareness and resources already available, facilitate in putting programs into the schools and provide prescription assistance.

Sam Webb is Phase 1, part of a two phase event in Sedalia, Missouri. He is a special guest of Kevin Hines, who is coming September 9. Kevin is a suicide survivor and someone who used to suffer from a mental health challenge.

Along with these two events, mark on your calendars two upcoming walks in the area.

Benton County will have their 1st annual 5k walk on June 3. Registrants will meet at Drake Harbor in Warsaw by 9:45 a.m., and the walk will start on the Osage Trail at 10:00 a.m.

Pettis County will have their 3rd annual 5k walk on September 16 at 10:00 a.m.
