Don’t Look Now But Here Comes Summer
If the weather has got you grumpy lately, you're not the only one. Yet, here comes summer. And it might just be that mood enhancer we need here in West Central Missouri.
The National Weather Service in Kansas City posted on their Facebook page that it'll be warming up. And warming up quickly. So quickly, our predicted high temperatures for Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday have a shot at breaking the record high temperature for those days.
The National Weather Service says the forecasted high for Kansas City on Monday, May 9 is 90, with the record sitting at 91. On Tuesday, May 10, 92, which would tie the record high for that date. And on Wednesday, May 11, the high is expected to be one shy of the record of 92.
So yes, it's going to be hot. In our part of West Central Missouri, our forecast experts at Weatherology, are projecting a high of 89 each day between Monday, May 9 - Wednesday, May 11. It's not record-breaking. And 89 doesn't seem as impressive as the mercury in the thermometer hitting the 90-degree mark. But still, very impressive for early May.
And after what seems like a couple of weeks of chilly temperatures, dismal gray skies, and everything from sprinkles to showers and thumpies. We couldn't have asked mother nature for a better prescription. In addition to the warm temperatures, Weatherology is calling for sunny skies Monday and Tuesday and a mix of clouds and sun on Wednesday.
There is a slight chance for scattered showers Tuesday night, and a slight chance of thunderstorms Wednesday, but who cares. I'm breaking out the shorts and the Hawaiian shirt Monday. And I might just have to stop at a place that has a patio for an ice-cold Corona. You should do that too. After the weather this winter and spring, we deserve it.
