Bothwell Regional Health Center will conduct a Safe Sitter education class on Saturday, August 11.
BRHC says the class will take place in the Bothwell Education Center from 7:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
A press release from Bothwell says the class is designed for children in 6th - 8th grades and ready to enter the world of babysitting. The Safe Sitter Program is described as a comprehensive, one-day course that includes pediatric CPR training and can help teach young teens and preteens how to be better, safer babysitters.
Students in the class will have the opportunity to learn about injury management and prevention, childcare essentials, behavior management, the business of babysitting, and how to care for a choking child or infant.
The cost for the class is $35.00 and includes a messenger bag containing babysitting essentials.
Preregistration and payment is due by Monday, August 6. For more information, call 827-9138. Bothwell noted that class size is limited.
