Aerosmith Playing Two Missouri Shows Plus Chicago Before They Peace Out

If you caught any of the pre-promotion for what is being billed as Aerosmith's farewell tour it didn't come as a surprise. I kind of figured it out when I saw the T-Mobile Center's picture of the arena with what I would assume is a photoshopped billboard with the Aerosmith logo with the words Peace Out in the band's iconic script. Keep reading to learn what you need to know about the band's Peace Out Tour and where you can see them in Missouri and Illinois.

In announcing their final tour, the band released a cameo-filled teaser video hyping, overhyping in my opinion, their final major tour. You can watch the not safe for work video here (there are a few swear words):

The video ends with Steven Tyler saying, "And if you think we're joking, dream on." So do I really think this is the end?

As far as major tours go, yup I think this is it. Although from the stories I've read online Steven Tyler seems to be leaving the door open that Aerosmith, as a band, could possibly continue in some way or another. I think the door's being left open just enough that if they want to scratch the itch to do something, they can without being accused of flip-flopping on their retirement announcement. Whether they actually will or not is another story altogether.

Aerosmith's Peace Out Tour is scheduled to start in Philly on Saturday, September 2, 2023, and continue through the band's final show in Montreal on Friday, January 25, 2024. In Missouri, the band will play at The Enterprise Center in St. Louis on Thursday, October 26, and The T-Mobile Center in Kansas City on Thursday, November 16.

The band will play one show in Illinois at the United Center on Friday, September 15.

Ticket prices for the Chicago and Kansas City shows have not been published by the venues, however, the Enterprise Center has ticket prices listed and they range from $56.95 - $496.95. I'd expect similar pricing for the Chicago and Kansas City shows. Tickets for all three shows go on sale Friday, May 5, 2022, at 10:00 AM CDT. Some pre-sales may be happening the day before.

Opening for Aerosmith on this tour will be the same band I saw open for them on the  Pump Tour in 1990, the Black Crowes.

While the run of shows this fall could be it for Aerosmith, it wouldn't surprise me if the band's Peace Out tour continues throughout much of 2024 with a string of international dates and more U.S. and Canadian dates if these shows sell well, and most of the band stays healthy.

People magazine quotes the band as saying drummer Joey Kramer won't be touring with the band for their scheduled farewell dates, instead choosing to focus on his health and his family.

Frontman Steven Tyler has had his share of illnesses as well. The band cut short their Las Vegas residency by two weeks at the end of last year because Tyler's doctors ordered him not to perform because of an undisclosed illness. Prior to that Tyler and the band had to reschedule shows after he needed time to regain his sobriety after getting addicted to the painkillers he was taking after foot surgery.

Tyler also has been accused of sexual assault, sexual battery, and intentional infliction of emotional distress stemming from an illicit relationship he had with a sixteen-year-old in 1973, which may not be sitting well with some of the band's fans.

It's with all these things happening in the background that the Peace Out tour gets underway. How these things play out over the rest of the year may very well determine whether or not Aerosmith adds more dates to this tour, makes it to the end of this tour, or just says Peace Out sooner than we expect.
