I've done a little bit of everything over the years when it comes to jobs. I've been a cashier, a grape picker, a home health aide, a library assistant, whatever. I think we've all had our fair share of different jobs.  And now, I can present you with five very specific jobs here in good old Sedville that will be off the beaten path of "normal gig".  Or at least I think so.  But then, look at what I do.  Someone is paying me to write this while "Baepsae" is playing in my headphones. Life, what can I tell ya. I found all these on snagajob.com by the way.

1.  Night Baker at Panera Bread.

My mind immediately goes to that scene in 30 Rock where Liz Lemon was working on her "night cheese".   And now,  we work on our night bread.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Preparing dough for baking by placing/shaping dough in pans; spreading or sprinkling toppings; allowing dough to rise and monitoring product while baking. • Maintaining a proper bake by adjusting thermostatic controls to regulate oven temperature. • Maintaining equipment by following proper cleaning procedures. • Updating job knowledge by participating in scheduled trainings and online learning. • Enhancing the bakery operations and customer experience by accepting ownership for quality of baked product • Maintaining a positive relationship with all bakery café team members through open communication. • Maintaining a clean, healthy and safe work environment. • Must pass a criminal background check.

So if you're a night owl and you love the smell of bread...this would be perfect.

2. Biscuit Maker at Hardee's (the one on Limit).

This seems very specific indeed. Is that really all you do there, just biscuits? I bet you'd become a biscuit expert in no time.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES: • Prepare and bake biscuits according to company recipes and procedures. • Prepare biscuits to meet business demands without over producing. • Clean cooking utensils, pots, pans, equipment and floors. • Assist with other food production personnel as needed. • Maintain a cooperative, harmonious working relationship with management and fellow team members. • Ensure personal appearance meets company standard and displays professionalism at all times. • Recognize and adhere to all HR, sanitation, safety and security policies and procedures to provide a safe and compliant environment for all.

Ohhhh, so it's not just exclusive to biscuits, but biscuits are your main priority.  That would make more sense.

3.  Pet Groomer at Pet Smart.

I can see ups and downs with this one.  On the one hand, cute animals all day.  On the other hand, cute animals that might not be happy with what you're doing to them.

Let your creativity shine as an experienced Pet Groomer! In our Grooming Salon, you’ll have the opportunity to build personal relationships with your clients each time they visit and truly become a part of their family. With your skills and expertise, you’ll advise pet parents on the best services for their pets and perform grooming services that exceed their expectations. And, as an added bonus, you’ll be able to share in the joy that comes with picking up a freshly coiffed pet! It’s impossible not to smile and take pride in the work that you do for your clients!

Sounds like they're pretty happy about it, anyway.

4.  Water Technician at MPW.

It Sounds Fancy, but it looks like this one is more for someone who might be interested in manual labor.

Job Description • Assembles and connects hosing. • Uses monitoring equipment to tests proper water quality is being met. • Logs test results. • Ensures proper valving of the demineralizer trailer. • Trouble shoots system operational problems. • Performs other duties as asked. Required Skills • Ability to carry/lift up to 75 lbs. • Ability to maintain a consistent workload that involves heavy manual labor. • Ability to maintain alertness and acuity that is not typically impaired by any medication, diet, or physical condition. • Ability to bend, stoop, squat, sit and maneuver in confined spaces. • Ability to wear respirators in environments that may expose you to chemicals, fumes, etc. • Ability to maintain workloads that may include travel to a variety of states for days or weeks, and daily timeframes that could exceed the typical 8-hour shift. Required Experience • High School Diploma or GED preferred • 1-2 years work experience in an industrial/manufacturing setting • Valid Driver's License • Ability to be trained to run a forklift

That's something I don't know how to do.  I don't know how to drive a forklift.

5.  Beauty Advisor at Sephora.

This just sounds intimidating to me.  But then, I'm not the most feminine of ladies. Maybe to someone who naturally knows about makeup and stuff, this would be ideal!

Primary Responsibilities • Proactively approaches clients in a friendly manner to determine how to provide a rewarding client experience • Seeks out and absorbs knowledge of products and techniques to stay up to date on beauty trends • Participates in activities in assigned area(s) to support core standards and ensure merchandise is well presented and available for the client • Models a strong brand identity based on the Sephora Inside JCP values and culture

Yeah, I can't keep up with beauty trends.  But maybe you can!

Jobbingly yours,
Behka
