‘Wings Over Whiteman’ Air Show Slated for this Weekend
The Wings Over Whiteman Air Show is scheduled for June 15 - 16 at Whiteman Air Force Base.
509th Bomb Wing Air Show Director, Lt. Col. Jasen Hunter, said he is one of two directors for the show, with the other group being the 442nd Fighter Wing to host the combined event.
Lt. Col. Hunter said the air show is celebrating 30 years of the B-2 Spirit Bomber's first flight.
The B-2 will be on static display and also conduct a flyover as part of the event. In addition to the B-2, Hunter said the A-10 Demonstration Team will join the show. The F-22 Raptor is also scheduled to perform, along with U.S. Army Golden Knights.
Admission to the air show is free, but Hunter said attendees need to bring a government- issued ID to get on base.
Parking is also free and security partners will transport visitors from the parking lot to the flight lines via a tram service. Hunter said the gates open at 9:00 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday, with the last performance taking place around 4:00 in the afternoon.
Wings Over Whiteman will feature vendors and souvenirs, along with World War II era aircraft.
