The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that an eastbound 2015 Nissan Rogue, driven by a 23-year-old woman from Sedalia was on Route Y, east of Route D near Rose Acres, around 4:45 p.m, when the driver attempted to pass another vehicle, reportedly a blue Nissan Cube, and the other driver forced her off the roadway.

The driver of the Rogue then struggled to maintain control of her car, which started flipping, became airborne, then landed and struck a culvert, and caught fire. Bystanders who stopped to help threw a towel over her face and pulled her from the burning car to safety.

The Nisan Rogue eventually exploded.

The woman suffered moderate injuries and was transported by JCAD to Western Missouri Medical Center for treatment.

She had seatbelt marks on her face, neck and abdomen, with several broken vertebrae, but no injury to the spinal cord. She also had massive facial bruising. And burns to both hands.
