The number one cause of work zones crashes in 2016 was driver inattention. There are several major work zones this summer that will impact travelers. Understanding where work zones will be and how to travel safely through them is essential to keeping the community safe.

MoDOT has a web site that will give you a view of different areas across the state that will show where those work zones are located. Go to http://www.modot.org/kansascity/Roadwork/Roadwork1_kansasCity.htm# to choose the county of your choice.

In Pettis County five programmed construction projects are listed. Those include-

US 50: Signal Improvements at Oak Grove Ln/Curry St, partnership with city of Sedalia.

US 50: Pavement improvements from RT FF to RT MM.

Route M: Bridge replacement Flat Creek

Route M: Deck replacements on Breakfast Crk and Walnut Crk Bridges

US 65: Deck replacement Muddy Creek Bridge
