The Boys and Girls Club works very, very hard for the kids of Pettis County and Sedalia.  There are so many people that put their heart and soul into it every day... but the kids also give back, too. At the Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri, all area youth – no matter their socioeconomic status – can participate in the educational and fun programs offered.  As part of the Club’s mission of inspiring and enabling all young people to realize their full potential as caring and productive citizens, and they make it a priority to ensure that no child is turned away from the benefits of the Club because of their family’s financial situation.

The kids themselves are also working to make other people's lives easier and more enriched.   Members may spend time making Christmas cards to distribute to senior citizens during the holidays or organize a donation drive for the Sedalia Animal Shelter. All projects are about  leadership and service,  It encourages members to learn to work together to plan and implement activities in four key areas: service to Club and community, education, health and fitness, and social recreation.

Boys & Girls Clubs of West Central Missouri serves more than 500 children daily at 11 sites in Sedalia, Cole Camp, Green Ridge, La Monte, Leeton and Smithton.

So... how can you help?

A huge fundraising event is coming up this weekend, so you definitely can help.  It's the 35th Annual Evening of Heart and Hope, which is goign down this weekend.  Now, don't get too excited.  The event is sold out if you want to attend in person.  HOWEVER, if you want to get some of them goodies from the comfort of your own couch with a glass of wine in one hand and a plate of pizza rolls in your lap... I've got you.

You can always sign up to be a Virtual Bidder! Basically what that is, is just what it sounds like. You can sign up to get online and make bids on the silent auction items. And you can do so in your favorite pair of ratty old pajama pants.
