Sedalia’s Christmas Light Contest Winners Announced

Xi Beta Upsilon, chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, with the assistance of the Mayor and the City Council announced the winners of the City’s 41st annual outdoor Christmas Light Contest Wednesday morning.

First place was CJ and Angela Spatz, 1717 W. 3rd

Second place was Chad Fidler, 2902 Daryl Drive

Third place was Laura and James Stromblad, 2705 Southwest Blvd.

Other entries included:

Rick & Cindy Crider, 2200 Harrison
Roger Davis, 1612 W. 4th
Donald and Carol Martin, 538 E. 4th
Rick Hubbard, 1003 Leone Avenue

Prize money awarded was $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place.

The judging was done on a point basis:

Lighting                       10 points
Eye Appeal                  10 points
Originality                   10 points
Overall Appeal            10 points

The complete display is to remain in place throughout the Christmas holiday season for the enjoyment of the community, the City noted.
