Sedalia Announces Outdoor Lighting Contest for 2020

The City of Sedalia has announced its 40th annual Outdoor Christmas Light Contest for 2020.

The contest is organized by Xi Beta Upsilon, chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, with the assistance of the Mayor and City Council.

There are two categories, residential and business.

Prizes will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners – $100 for first, $50 for second and $25 for third.

Deadline to enter is noon on Monday, Dec. 14

Judging will take place Tuesday, Dec. 15 after 6:30 p.m.

Judging will done on a point basis: 10 points each for lighting, eye appeal, originality and overall appeal.

The display is to remain in place through the Christmas holiday season for the enjoyment of the community. City employees are not eligible to enter. The contest is limited to those inside the City limits.
