Sedalia Burn Ban Lifted
Due to rain in the Sedalia area over the last few days and more rain predicted, the Sedalia Fire Department has lifted the burn ban for Sedalia.
In a statement on the city's website, Chief Mike Ditzfeld is reminding residents that open burning is still illegal in the City of Sedalia without a permit. Permits can be obtained at the Sedalia Fire Department.
Pettis County Fire District Chief, Mike Harding, announced that the Pettis County burn ban was lifted, as well.
City ordinances prohibit the burning of leaves, rubbish, and manmade materials including building materials - such as lumber.
The Sedalia Fire Department would like to thank the citizens for their help during this ban.
