Search Continues for Escapee after Stolen Truck Recovered
The Pettis County Sheriff's Department says overnight Sunday, deputies were notified of a suspicious pick-up truck on property west of Clifton City in northeastern Pettis County. The truck had been reported stolen from Heavener, Oklahoma on Friday, which was the last reported sighting of Pettis County Jail escapee, Travis L. Davis.
Davis was reported missing from the Pettis County Jail on March 10. Authorities say the recovered truck is a red 2001 Dodge. Davis was being held on numerous charges including kidnapping, endangering the welfare of a minor, domestic assault, resisting arrest, and parole violation.
A ground and air search of the area failed to locate the driver.
Area agencies have been notified and the search continues for 30-year old Travis L. Davis. He is considered armed & dangerous and should not be approached.
