In the early morning hours Monday, Pettis County Deputies attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed northbound on US HWY 65, near Country Club Boulevard. The vehicle failed to stop for Deputies, and a subsequent pursuit ensued. Deputies pursued the vehicle at high rates of speeds south of Sedalia city limits, and to the southern county line. The vehicle then began to travel northbound on US HWY 65. At this point in time, Deputies opted to terminate the pursuit for the safety of the public. A suspect has been identified, and charges are pending.

Sunday morning, Deputies arrested Levan Strickland Jr., 42, of Jefferson City. Strickland had an outstanding Henry County Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Failing to Obey. There was no information in the report about where the arrest took place, nor was bond information available on Casenet.


 

Deputies conducted a traffic stop in the area of West 11th Street and South Limit Avenue on Sunday morning. The vehicle had a defective license plate light. The driver of the vehicle, Donley Maldonado, 42, of Warrensburg, was found to have an active warrant for his arrest. Maldonado was placed under arrest and transported to the Pettis County Jail. Maldonado was booked in on his Failure to Appear warrant on original charges of Driving While Intoxicated. Maldonado was booked in, pending a $250 cash only bond.
