The Pettis County Historical Society and Museum will host a gala-opening of a World War I exhibit on May 22.

A press release from the Pettis County Historical Society states the interpretive exhibit is in honor of the 100th anniversary of the United States entry into the Great War.

There will be artifacts, images, and information about the war on display.

The gala will take place Monday, May 22 at the Pettis County Museum, located at 228 Dundee Avenue, in Sedalia.

The exhibit will open at 6:00 p.m. for viewing. Following at 7:00, society members William Claycomb and Rhonda Chalfant will give presentations about the war.

Claycomb will speak about the situation in Europe, that took place place before and during the war.

Chalfant will offer a history presentation about Pettis County during the war.

Everyone is invited to attend.
