Inaugural Mozark Fest: A Lotta Classic Rock, With Some Country Flair
Missouri Music Festivals, LLC, the group behind Mozark Fest happening at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia, set their three-day festival lineup for September 20 -22, 2024, and announced that Country music will be featured at the festival on Saturday, September 21.
Headlining the show on Saturday, September 21 will be LOCASH, along with Cooper Alan, Harper Grace, Presley Puig, and Lake of the Ozark native Dale Blue who will kick the day off. The lineup for the festival's other two days is as follows.
Headlining on Friday, September 20, is Revisiting Credence with their look back at Creedence Clearwater Revival, along with Molly Hatchet, Danny "Count" Koker's band Counts 77, Kings of Queens doing their tribute to Queen, and a tribute to the Eagles by the band Seven Bridges.
The festival will wrap up on Sunday, September 22, with Starship featuring Mickey Thomas as the headliner. Also on the bill that day, Glenn Hughes formerly of Deep Purple and Black Sabbath, Head East, Christian Rockers Petra, and Black Magic and their tribute to Santana.
In addition to the music, Mozark Fest will feature a classic car show presented by the West Central Missouri Vintage Auto Club, a Midwest Volkswagen Car Show featuring Bugs to Microbusses, The Traveling Vietnam Wall, along with an arts and crafts show, a kid's zone, sports bar, a motorcycle poker run and a variety of vendors and food trucks.
Ticket prices range from $55.00 - $70.00 for each day of the festival, and from how the ticket sales are set up, it looks like it will be very similar to the setup for the Missouri State Fair, where seating on the track costs a little more than seats in the grandstand. The festival runs daily from 2:30 PM until the headliner wraps it up with their encore around 11:00 PM.
Outside of the Missouri State Fair, the Mozark Festival is the first big music-related event to be held on the fairgrounds. As a music lover, I think utilizing the fairgrounds for concerts and festivals is a great thing. This festival next fall might be the first baby step into something that turns into a very cool annual event.
