Kids, you know and I know that dogs are everywhere and often the pet of many a Sedalia person. While it may not be my thing personally, a lot of folks have dogs and just love 'em.  The Smith Cotton Junior High is going to have a Dog-A-Thon on Friday, May 18 from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The students at the school will be walking people’s dogs or if they choose to walk their own dogs they can. There will even be dogs from our local animal shelter there!

They will gratefully be accepting donations and people are encouraged to sponsor students to walk. The purpose of this event is to raise awareness for responsible pet care and breeding and the needs of our local animal shelter.

All the proceeds will go directly to help our Animal Shelter. They will have refreshments for both people and dogs, and a place to relax and enjoy the day. Check out the Animal Shelter's website for some other news.

Well, what about you? Do you have a dog? What kind of pets do you have? Any funny or touching stories about your favorite animal encounters?

Walkingly yours,
Behka
