Some people are so cruel.  As a big animal lover, I really do feel we do not deserve most animals and I want them to live in their natural habitat.  As for dogs, we do not deserve them...at all.  They are literally put on this Earth to be loyal to us, help us, protect us.

The Human Society of Missouri announced yesterday that they rescued 42 dogs from a puppy mill - Cedarcrest Kennel in Douglas County, Missouri. The rescued dogs include Irish Terriers, Schnauzers, Cairn Terriers, and Yorkies.  Some of the puppies were only a few days old.

“The dogs and their pups now have a chance to finally live a normal life instead of being forced to produce litter after litter of puppies for profit,” said Kathy Warnick, the president of the Humane Society of Missouri.  You can read more about this situation HERE.

I have shared before that I have grown up with pets in my home.  We have had Beagles, Whippets, mini Huskies, a bulldog/beagle mix, and labs.  All of them with the exception of the Whippet, came from shelters.  One Whippet came from a reputable breeder.  Each one of them gave us all the love and protection that it could.  A few we even took to obedience training.  Worth every penny.

If you are looking at adding a pet to your home, remember it is a lifetime commitment.  Please go to your local shelter.  Click HERE for a link to the Sedalia Animal Shelter, and info on them.  To report an animal who may be in danger or is suffering from neglect or abuse, call the local police and the Humane Society of Missouri’s Animal Cruelty Hotline at (314) 647-4400.
