Knob Noster Schools Closed; Warrensburg Holding AMI Day: Friday Jan 14
Knob Noster schools will be closed and Warrensburg Region VI Schools will hold an Alternate Method of Instruction (AMI) Day, today, Friday, January 14.
Knob Noster Schools announced their closure Thursday afternoon via a Facebook post. Knob Noster Schools cite absenteeism related to COVID-19 and non-coronavirus-related illnesses and the fact that kids are off Monday for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day as a reason to give the Knob Noster Schools community a long weekend to rest and self isolate. Parents should have received notification of the closing via email.
In Warrensburg, Region VI Schools will be holding an AMI Day due to staff absences. The day counts as a regular school day and won't need to be made up. Students will earn attendance by completing assignments given by their teachers. Students will receive assignments email, SeeSaw, or Canvas. As is the case with all AMI days, Adventure Club will not be held. Warrensburg Region VI says activities will continue as scheduled unless otherwise notified.
Last Friday Sedalia 200 Schools closed after many of the district's bus drivers were absent due to illness. And earlier Sacred Heart Catholic School in Sedalia announced they would closeThursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14 because of staff illness as well.
The Sedalia, Warrensburg, Knob Noster area, like many parts of Missouri, seems to be experiencing a spike in coronavirus cases as well as the flu.
