Your Job Might Be Asking You To Do A Little More Work Soon
The average person says they're bored at work for at least 10-and-a-half hours every WEEK, according to a new survey. And some of the ways we kill the time are watching videos, pretending to work, and looking for other jobs.
I gotta say, that number surprised me. Really? Ten and a half hours?! That's like, two hours a day if you're working five days a week.
There's a difference between doing boring stuff at work and being bored at work. Doing boring stuff IS work. Being bored at work means you need more boring stuff to do. And there's your uplifting message of the day.
Anyway. According to a new survey, the average person says they're bored at work for at least 10-and-a-half hours every WEEK.
Apparently, bosses know we're not totally stimulated all the time, but they don't think it's THAT bad. The average manager says their employees are only bored six hours a week.
So what do people do to kill that time? Some of the answers they gave are: Watching videos online, daydreaming, cleaning their desk, doodling, pretending to work, and looking for other jobs. I think playing games on your phone is probably up there, too.
Of course, I'm NEVER bored at my job. I am always super busy and enjoying every millisecond of my time. Well, I mean, IF I get bored, there's always Reddit. And technically, that COULD be work, because I'm looking for leads on a story? Right? Right.
Do you get bored at work? What do you do to fight it? Sorry, your boss may see this and ask for you to work a little more. You know, seeing as how you're bored at work.
Workingly yours,
