I Had My First Interaction with the Kiosks at McDonald’s
I was coming across I-70 on Monday when I dropped in at the McDonald's in Boonville. Lo and behold, I had my first face-to-face interaction with their new kiosk.
I had heard of the kiosks coming to McDonald's. I finally met one. Not impressed.
I went to the counter to order a large unsweetened ice tea. The young man behind the counter told me I had to order on the kiosks which were placed behind me. I walked over and followed the prompts. It wasn't too bad but then it spit out a ticket for me to take to the counter so I could pay.
So with the time it took to go through the different steps to find the beverage of my choice, to decide on a payment mode, to finish my order and to to reassure the kiosk that I was finished, to get the ticket and head to the counter to pay, I could've gone through the same procedure with a person at the counter and been done so much quicker.
I guess it's a sign of the times but I'm going to play my "old person" card and say I'm not a fan of it.
