Husbando Says I’m Pioneering Sleepwalking With SleepChanging
I've had a long and often complicated relationship with sleep. But let me start here by saying this is one hundred percent true, every word of it. When I was in high school, it would take ages to fall asleep. At least an hour or so. Now I have a very strange sleep schedule, but I've adapted. I go to bed normally before 8:30 p.m., and I get up at 4:00 a.m. So obviously, Husbando does not go to bed at the same time that I do. He'll come to bed anywhere between midnight and 2:00 a.m. or so.
He sat me down the other day and told me that I am a freakjob in my sleep. Apparently, I've been... changing my pajamas in my sleep. Husbando does the laundry in our household. He was remarking on how many pairs of pajama pants I go through in a week. He was saying it was something like ten pairs in one week. Then, other day I went to bed at my normal time, and he got up and went to the bathroom about two hours later. He saw the bedroom light on, and heard me moving. He asked me if I was okay, and I responded by saying "I'm just going to bed..." So he opens the door, and there I am, changing my pajama pants. Perfectly fine, clean pajama pants to another pair of perfectly fine, clean pajama pants.
I remember none of this, of course. I know I sometimes talk in my sleep, and snoring is prevalent, I know. One time I sat up bolt upright, grabbed Husbando's arm and said, "DON'T DO THAT. YOU KNOW I DON'T LIKE THAT." Then promptly went back to sleep. I think I've even done some sleepwalking when I was staying in a familiar place. I've heard of people eating, driving, talking, all sorts of weird things in their sleep. But... sleep changing? I have never heard of that! I guess it doesn't really do any harm, and it's not like it's affected my sleep.
I guess that explains why there's so much laundry. I wonder if there's something I can do about it? Husbando's "clever" suggestion is to put a padlock on the dresser, but I can't approve of that. I guess I shouldn't be so surprised by all this... my sister reminded me that my Mom used to do laundry in her sleep. AND HERE I AM, MAKING LAUNDRY IN MY SLEEP.
Have you or someone you know done something weird when they were asleep? Is there anything that helped?
