Pets and Christmas trees can sometimes lead to a little holiday chaos! Not that I'm saying this has happened in our household. All of our pets are precious angels that have never, ever done anything wrong.  And while I'm sure yours are too, I thought we'd discuss this just to be safe. After all, you're probably away from home all day, and they're alone with that tree......

To keep your furry friends safe and your festive spirit intact, here are four friendly tips:

1. Go for an artificial tree!

Fake trees don’t have that enticing scent of a real one and they don’t shed, which is a bonus. Plus, pine needles can upset their tummies if they decide to snack on them.

2. Hang those delicate ornaments high!

Place your fragile decorations on the upper branches and use ribbons or twist ties to attach them securely. This makes it a bit trickier for pets to bat them down, and it keeps those metal hangers from becoming a tempting chew toy.

3. Keep those cords tidy!

Using cord covers or organizers helps hide those electrical wires, which can be really tempting for playful pets. Always unplug the lights when you're not home, just to be safe.

4. Cover that water container!

If you think your curious companion might still want to explore the tree, consider setting up a pen or some fencing around the base. It adds an extra layer of protection while still letting everyone enjoy the holiday cheer!

With these simple tips, you can create a joyful and safe environment for both your pets and your holiday decorations! Happy holidays!
