
Green Ridge to Celebrate Sesquicentennial
Green Ridge will celebrate its Sesquicentennial (1870 – 2020) Sept. 18 -19.
A list of activities for Saturday include:
8 a.m. 5K Run on the Katy Trail
8:30 a.m. Queen Crowning at Green Ridge Baptist Church
10 a.m. “Back In Time” Parade on Street
10:30 a.m. ”Tractor & Car Show” after the parade on Main Street
11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Games at the baseball diamond
10 a.m. 4:30 p.m. Craft Fair at the park.
The food service trucks will be there from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
12 p.m. Hot Pepper Eating contest in the park
1 p.m. Super Farmer Competition at the ball diamond
1 to 4 p.m. Live Music by Faded Youth at the park
3 p.m. Children's Pedal Pull south of the park
3:30 p.m., Adult Pedal Pull
2 p.m. Dress Contest at the Community Building
4:30 to 7:30 Pulled Pork Meal in the school cafeteria
4 p.m. to 12 a.m. Beer Garden at the Rec Center
8 to 12 p.m., Cedar Creek Band at the Rec Center
A list of activities for Sunday include:
11 a.m. Community Church Service at the park
12 p.m,. Carry-in lunch at the park
1 p.m. Automobile Raffle at the park - A chance to win a 2008 Chevrolet Equinox LT donated by Ollison's Used Cars. It is White, V6, 4-door, Automatic Transmission, Power Windows, and AC. Tickets are $5 each or 5/$20.
1 p.m. Rifle Raffle at the park
2 p.m. Time Capsule Dedication
