If you have a child that loves Harry Potter you won't want to miss Harry Potter Day, Saturday, October 1, at Science City in Union Station.

The Union Station website says:

"Dress in your finest robes and celebrate all things Harry Potter in one magical day packed with special indoor and outdoor activities, interactive demos, and hands-on make-and-take projects! Come explore the science behind the magic and enjoy a fun and enchanting day shared with your fellow Potterheads!"

Activities during Harry Potter day include making a color-changing potion with red cabbage juice. Creating your own personal Harry Potter wand. Transformation of a sheet of paper into something new and exciting. A discussion of the magical powers of animals. Visitors can even participate in a Quidditch match and more. You can see the full schedule of events here.

Union Station is also screening "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" from Saturday, October 1 through Thursday, October 6 on the Regnier Extreme Screen.

Harry Potter Day runs from 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM CDT in Science City. General admission tickets to Science City are $14.50 per person and include the Harry Potter Day experiences. Make sure you buy tickets for Saturday, October 1, when buying them on the Union Station website. Tickets to see "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" on the Regnier Extreme Screen cost $3.50 a person. There are three screenings of the movie daily.

From the Sedalia - Warrensburg area you can ride Amtrak's Missouri River Runner right into Union Station in Kansas City, or if you'd rather drive, parking is available near the museum which costs between $10.00 - $15.00 dollars.
