A recent survey asked people to name the best Christmas gifts they've gotten from a co-worker, and OFFICE SUPPLIES somehow made the list.

I don't know about you guys, but it's hard for me to come up with stuff to buy for the office Secret Santa stuff.  It's like, you don't want to get something too serious, but you also don't want to get them something so silly that it'll just get chucked.  And if your office is like ours, we just do White Elephant where they steal half the gifts anyway.  And who would really know that you secretly want, like a cup warmer for your desk?  It's not like you can just ask for something, that's kinda weird. So anyway, I went to the interwebs and I was able to find the most popular gifts that your co-workers want.

Here are the top five . . .

1.  Gift cards.  Which is nice because they're easy.  25% of the people surveyed said it's their favorite thing they've gotten from a co-worker before.

2.  Food or alcohol, 11%.  So a bottle of wine might work.

3.  A gadget, or something else that has to do with technology, 8%.

4.  Office supplies, 5%.  So apparently if you gave Dave in accounting a three-hole-punch last year, you NAILED it.

5.  Something homemade, 3%.

The survey also found that 93% of the people who plan to give a co-worker a gift said it's because they consider them a "friend", not just someone they work with. Awww, isn't that sweet?  I've had co-workers that I considered friends, and I definitely had some co-workers that I would maybe call a "frienemy".  Luckily where I'm working now, we all get along with each other pretty easily.  Must be because we're all insane.

What kind of stuff do you want in the office holiday gift exchange?  What kind of stuff will you buy? Does your work do anything special like Secret Santa?  And most importantly...what's the cost limit?

Officingly yours,
Behka
