After trying to figure out what to do and where to go with the grand kids on a hot July day in mid-Missouri, I've found that the options are limited.

Thank goodness for the Galaxy Movie Theater, Strikerz and Burger King. That's it. Am I missing something?

The movie theater was the first stop on a hot summer day. That took care of about 1 1/2-2 hours. Then it was off to the play area at Burger King. A quick bite to eat and off through the door to the air-conditioned play area. This was great for one afternoon but what about trying to find other things to do during the summer months?

I understand that there are so many other activities you can do outside but sometimes you just want to get out of the heat. That break is sometimes is warranted.

Trying to find a spot that, number one, gives you and the rambunctious rascals a cool place to go is limited, and, number two, a place to keep them entertained is even more challenging.

For area parents and grandparents, the choices of locations for indoor activities for the kiddos on hot summer days are few and far between. At least I'm not recollecting any other businesses and/or locations to seek shelter and coolness when the heat index jumps in excess of 100 degrees.

If there are such places in the area, I'd like to know where they are and I imagine others would too!
