We all have memories of many an afternoon spent on asphalt during recess.  How many times did we play tetherball,  kickball, or four square?   We did all that and there was the interesting period known as Gym.I remember a lot about gym class: trying to play wiffleball, running the length of the gym, freeze tag, sitting on those weird little things that had rollers...

You remember those things.  We crab-walked, we did jumping jacks, and yes, we played Dodgeball.  I was pretty okay at dodgeball unless there was a kid there who didn't like me.  Then it usually got personal and they tried to hit me in the head.  But generally, I never made it very far in the game, anyway.   NOT FOR LACK OF TRYING.

Anyway.  Dodgeball is so back and it's gonna help out a local group here in our area.  I got to talk with Deidre Esquivel, Sedalia School District Foundation president, and Laura Taylor, Sedalia School District Foundation Secretary about the first annual Dodgeball Tournament that will take place February 21.

The pool play begins at 3:00 p.m. and the winner of each pool advances to bracket play. Bracket play will start at approximately 7:30 p.m. Each team is guaranteed three games.  All players must be 18 years old by July 1, 2014.  Six to eight players per team, teams must include two female  players.  Prizes will be given to the teams with the best uniforms. Thanks so much to all the lovely groups that have helped make this possible:  Hotel Bothwell, Kindle Sports Academy, Limbaugh Chiropractic, Septagon, and TRC Construction Services.  For more information, contact the SSDF at 8292562, email schfound@iland.net or go to their website.

Dodgingly yours,
Behka
