Smith-Cotton High School senior Kyren Staten has accepted an athletic scholarship to play football at MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.

Smith-Cotton senior Masyn Kruse was selected as the recipient of the Sedalia 200 district-level John T. Belcher Scholarship.

Kruse is one of 25 JROTC cadets out of 500,000 nationwide to receive the honor this year.
