“Dirty Jobs” TV Host Mike Rowe Speaking At College Of The Ozarks
Most of us know television personality Mike Rowe from his show "Dirty Jobs", or as the narrator of "Deadliest Catch". He will be speaking Tuesday at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout.

Rowe will be speaking in the Howell W. Keeter Athletic Complex, Tuesday, March 27, 2023, during the college's Spring Work Ethic Forum Convocation. The college chose Rowe to speak because the college's signature program since its founding in 1906 is its Work Education Program.
Rowe's known as the "dirtiest man on TV" based on his show "Dirty Jobs", which is now in its tenth season. On his show, Rowe has championed working people and those in blue-collar professions that make life easier for us all.
Through "Dirty Jobs" Rowe "Traveled to every state and worked with plumbers, electricians, steamfitters, pipefitters, bricklayers, farmers, fishers, and a bunch of other skilled workers who help keep our polite society humming along." He found happy people who have achieved a work-life balance and didn't resemble how blue-collar folks are portrayed in the media.
That led to Rowe founding The mikeroweWORKS Foundation to promote skilled labor and advocate for people to consider vocational training, in addition to the traditional four-year degree.
Dr. Sue Head, vice president for cultural affairs and dean of character education at College of the Ozarks said in a release:
“Mike Rowe is passionate about encouraging young people, and his resume includes over 300 jobs he has done for his show ‘Dirty Jobs.’ His visit to Hard Work U. will provide the opportunity for our students to show him what they are learning and will highlight how our strong work ethic overlaps with his.”
Free tickets for the event on Tuesday night are sold out.
