The Sedalia Community Center is having a Blood Drive coming up on September 15.  Most of us will need a blood transfusion at some point in our lives. That means that you, your family and your peers will need the support of volunteer blood donors.

Thirty-seven percent of the population is eligible to donate blood, but only about seven percent actually donate.  That's really not a lot.  Approximately 60 percent of collections come from Blood Drives chaired by volunteers at schools, churches, organizations, and businesses.  Donating blood is one of easiest ways to support your community. Your donation will save the life of an individual right here, right now.  And the thing is, with the whole pandemic thing, blood is definitely needed even more than ever before.  If supplies were low a couple of years ago.... they're definitely lower now.

If you have never donated blood before, you are probably wondering what you can expect. Although the actual blood draw takes only a few minutes, the entire donation process may take an hour or more.  All you have to do is sign in, they do a mini physical, and then you donate.  It's pretty simple, and you need to do it!

And now, there's a little added bit of fun added into the mix.  Check out what the Community Blood Center is going to do this year!
