It's the holiday weekend and you're still undecided what to do. Of course, the 4th falls on Sunday so you'll most likely be barbecuing with friends and family. Why not take a half-day for yourself on Saturday, July 3 at Knob Noster State Park as they invite ladies to explore the great outdoors from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.

We're about about a month into the summer vacation for kids. Are they bugging yet with "There's nothing to do" or "I'm bored"? Maybe we can help take care of a few days so you can quit hearing that broken record over and over again.

My favorite time of the year is Fall. I like the cooler air, the crisp mornings and usually, the freeze that helps to annihilate the mosquito population! With that being said I also like the Spring and Summer months because you can get outside and grill your favorite foods but the one thing I despise when outside during that time are mosquitos. So you're sitting in a prison in Missouri and you're trying to get out. You've come up with a way to make a dash and ultimately you could see daylight outside the prison walls. Sound like a new plot for a made-for-TV movie? Nope, it's what's going in Jefferson for Prison Break 2021 at the MO State Penitentiary.

It's not just in our local area, Worlds of Fun in Kansas City is also feeling the pinch of staffing shortages as they cut back their days of operation this summer.

Missouri State Parks are looking for volunteer campground hosts willing to spend a month helping other campers.

Summer is coming up and it's the launching of a new canine unit for the Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) Protection Branch. Stationed around the state and used as necessary to work throughout Missouri, the new unit, will be made up of five dogs and their conservation agent-handlers.

If you are a native of Missouri or you have spent a summer or two in the Show-Me State, you know it can get rather balmy during the summer months. But there's two locations, one in the U.S. that best a hot day in Missouri by 70 some degrees!

Whether you know it or not this is the year for Missouri's Bicentennial. One of the many events planned for the year is a Bicentennial Ride. Missouri State Parks invites avid cyclists to participate in a century ride on the Katy Trail on Saturday, Aug. 7, 2021.
